OFA earns close win at Malone in swimming

MALONE - The OFA Varsity Swim team finished 1-2 in three individual events and produced

seven winners including two relays in a 56-38 win over host Malone on Friday evening. The Devils secured a 2-0 with two away victories

“Tonight was a good meet. There were several close races and not just for firt place, but for second and third,” recalled Malone coach Terry Miles.

OFA’s Susie Morrow finished first in the 100 Freestyle (59.29) and 100 Backstroke (1:11.85) and added legs in the winning 200 Medley Relay with Natalie Perrigo, Madi Bresett, and Julia Mullin and 200 Freestyle with Hunter Shaver, Chelsea Montroy and Julia Mullin.

Montroy took first in the 200 Freestylle in 2:28.23 and placed third in the 100 Freestyle. Mullin combed the 200 Individual Medley in 2:39.45 and placed second in the 100 butterfly.Bresett placed first in the 100 Butterfly in 1:17:44.

Shaver placed second in the 50 Free and third in the 100 Backstroke. Perrigo earned a second in the 200 IM and 100 Breastroke while Haley Snodgrass took second in the 100 Backstroke.

Third place finishes came from Claire Dufore in the 200 and 500 Free and Megan Mills in the 50 Freestyle.

Itsy Lucia won the grueling 500 race in a personal-best time of six minutes, 55.65 seconds .

Kenzie “KK” Wilson touched the wall first in the 50 freestyle(28.41) and in the 100 breaststroke (1:20.59).
