Heuvelton girls stay unbeaten

Heuvelton and Lisbon matched 2-0-1 records atop the unfolding West Division race in Friday’s NAC Girls Soccer action.

Heuvelton 7, Morristown 0: The Bulldogs (2-0-1 NAC West) remained unbeaten on the season as Logan Tallman provided the offensive spark figuring in the first three goals in the first 12 minutes of the game. Tallman set up goals by Alexis Weidner and Olivia St. Pierre with through passes and then netted an unassisted goal off a long run.

Weidner created a 4-0 lead in the 42nd minute converting the rebound of a nice cross from Thornhill who closed the game’s scoring with a long volley from the right wing off a pass from St. Pierre. Weidner made it 5-0 unassisted in the 43rd. Nathalie Barr accounted for the sixth goal a hard a shot off a dribble drive.

“Nathalie Barr scored a very nice goal and Hannah Thornhill made some really strong crosses today,” said Heuvelton Coach Gus Burns after Paige McCormick posted a four-shot shutout.

Samantha Green stopped 11 shots for Morristown.

Hermon-DeKalb rolled past host Edwards-Knox 4-1 while host Lisbon downed Clifton-Fine 13-0. Gouverneur won a 1-0 decision at Harrisville in a three team round robin tournament.

Hermon-DeKalb 4, Edwards-Knox 1: Brooke Woodrow generated a pair of goals and Chelsey MacKay stopped 13 shots for the Demons win over the host Cougars.

Woodrow and Paige Whitton scored unassisted goals in the 27th and 38th minute for a 2-0 halftime lead. Dakotah Bacon cut the deficit to 2-1 from Kate Smith in the 43rd for Edwards-Knox but Morgan Stott connected from Kasey O’Donnell in the 47th and Woodrow scored unassisted in the 75th.

Kelsey White made six saves for E-K.

Lisbon 13, Clifton-Fine 0: The Golden Knights scored four goals in the first 8:30. Hannah Richardson scored the first goal of the game from Maddie Vine in the fourth minute.

Beth Crowley finished with three goals while Vine chipped in three goals and one assist. Adrian Hyde, Katie Sovie, Alex Amo, Courtney Green, Anneissa Fields, and Holly Williams also scored with Fields and Green also assisting.

Jackie Sovie didn’t make a save in the shutout. Savannah Crane made 10 saves for C-F.

HARRISVILLE TOURNEY

Gouverneur 1, Harrisville 0: Noelle Carbone scored from Danielle McCormick for 1-2 Gouverneur as Taylor Andrews made four saves in the shuotout. Abby LaFaver made 18 saves for Harrisville (0-2-1).

Harrisville 2, Edwards-Knox 0: After recording an own goal at the 63rd minute, the Pirates’ Jared Dreythaler scored an insurance marker from Tim Fowler in the 78th. Zane Mono had five saves for Harrisville.

Gouverneur 1, Clifton-Fine 1 (Gouv wins shootout 4-3): Devin Cox scored for the Wildcats in regulation as Gouverneur won the shootout 4-3. Alberto Rubio scored for Clifton-Fine. Tom Andrews made 14 saves for Gouverneur and Austin Locke made 12 saves for C-F.
