P-H, C-P girls soccer teams net NAC East Road Wins

The Parishville-Hopkinton and Colton-Pierrepont varsity girls soccer teams came away with 3-1 wins on the road against NAC East Division rivals on Friday.

P-H 2, St. Lawrence Central 1: In Brasher Falls, the host Lady Larries got off to a promising start when Chloe Gardner finished off a play set up by Lindsey Thayer 14 minutes into the game but the Lady Panthers countered with a pair of goals before halftime en route to claiming the win.

Kodi Perkins tied the game in the 20th minute on a play set up by Olivia Collins and Brianna Hayes before Collins broke through for the eventual game-winner 13 minutes later.

Perkins sealed the win when she headed a cornerkick delivered to the near post off the foot of Hayes into the back of the next with less than four minutes left in regulation.

Marlee Wilson handled 17 shots working the crease for the win while Haleigh Agans stood tall making 27 saves between the pipes for SLC.

C-P 3, Tupper Lake 1 (2OT): In Tupper Lake, the Lady Colts trailed 1-0 at halftime before rallying to tie the game late in the second half then going on to fashion solo goals in each of the two 10-minute overtime sessions.

Lizzie Zurek opened the scoring for the Lumberjacks when she converted off an assist from Allison Richards with just two minutes left in the first half. Andrea Aldous pulled the Lady Colts even with a long range unassisted goal in the 32nd minute to set the stage for overtime where Madison Gregg generated the game-winner four minutes into the first OT assisted by Morgan Doyle, who put the game out of reach midway through the second OT assisted by Aldous.

Kathryn Miller made nine saves for the Lady Colts while Brooke Dewyea handled 11 shots in the losing cause.

The other East Division matchup on Friday saw Chateaugay halt Brushton-Moira 6-1.

Chateaugay 6, B-M 1: In Chateaugay, the Lady Bulldogs scored three times in the first 11 minutes of the second half to break away from a 1-0 halftime lead and hand the Lady Panthers their first loss of the season in four games.

Hannah Cook and Katie Beach (1 assist) netted two goals apiece while Danielle Charland (1 assist) and Brianna Cook connected for the other goals as Chateaugay improved to 3-0 overall.

Kenzie Traynor struck for the lone B-M goal off a penalty kick midway through the second half to make it a 4-1 game.

Kennedy Boyea had four saves backstopping the win while Micaela McCarthy fielded 14 of the shots she faced for the Lady Panthers.
