Three men were arrested Thursday afternoon after they allegedly were seen stealing a refrigerator and scrap metal and wire from a town of Pamelia motel.

Witnesses called police to the Hotis Motel, 23442 Route 37, after they saw three men carrying the items out of the facility about 2 p.m. that day, Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies said.

Charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny were Jonathan C. Mills, 28, of 27500 Route 37, town of Pamelia, and Brian J. Piarulli, 22, and Terry L. Granger, 21, both of 111 Flower Ave. The report did not indicate whether Mr. Piarulli and Mr. Granger live on Flower Avenue East or West.

The criminal-mischief charge stems from the men cutting pipes and wire in the motel, causing about $1,000 in damage, deputies said.

The three had parked a vehicle with an attached trailer outside the motel and were placing the items inside, witnesses told deputies.

Mr. Mills also was charged with promoting prison contraband and unlawful possession of marijuana after some marijuana was found in his possession during booking at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building. He also was given a ticket for third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after it was determined he drove with a suspended license, deputies said.

All three were arraigned in Watertown City Court and sent to the PSB on $5,000 bail each.

The motel is owned by JoAnn Sanchez-Norquist, who ran the now-defunct Fort Drum Storage.
