The city of Ogdensburgs Elsa M. Luksich Municipal Pool closed Monday for the summer season on a successful, high attendance note.
It was another good year at the pool, city Parks and Recreation Department Director Matthew J. Curatolo said Tuesday.
The pool opened on June 15 and was closed for three days this summer because of inclement weather.
A rainy and colder than usual August, Mr. Curatolo said. I wish that the second half of the summer was as good as the first.
Pool attendance this summer was 10,089 people, up from 9,116 swimmers in 2012.
The pool offered several programs including public swimming, American Red Cross-certified swim lessons, early bird swim, infant/toddler swim and water aerobics.
The pool hosted 10 parties, one more than in 2012.
Activity and fee-generated revenue statistics for this summer and 2012 were:
■ Swim Lessons: 171 this year and 153 in 2012.
■ Revenues from entry fees, programs and pool parties: $6,434 this year and $4,767 in 2012.
■ Adult passes: five in 2013 and nine in 2012.
■ Childrens passes: 17 in 2013 and 10 in 2012.
■ Family passes: 20 in 2013 and 15 in 2012.
The pool, which opened in 1994 in the Greenbelt, had a staff of 24 lifeguards this summer.
Mr. Curatolo praised his departments assistants for its maintenance.
Matt Denner and Ronald Spears did a great job keeping the pool running smoothly and efficiently this summer, he said.
