Frederic U. Dicker, state editor at the New York Post, wrote in a column Tuesday that Darrel J. Aubertine, commissioner of the state Department of Agriculture and Markets, is expected to resign in the next few weeks.
In his column, Mr. Dicker claimed Mr. Aubertine, a former state senator representing St. Lawrence, Jefferson and Oswego counties, is dissatisfied with how the state agency has been managed, according to an anonymous source from the Cuomo administration.
The source said Mr. Aubertines forthcoming resignation is partly because he was cut off and basically just told what hes supposed to be doing, according to Mr. Dicker. Read the column at http://wdt.me/gMScb8.
Despite repeated calls made Tuesday, Mr. Aubertine was not available for comment.
The commissioner just spent 14 straight days at the State Fair, a spokesman said in an emailed response. He is taking a few days off at the moment and unavailable for an interview.
