PHILADELPHIA — Rhonda L. Calhoun will no longer serve on the Indian River Central Board of Education.

“I’m moving out of the area,” she said after the Aug. 22 meeting.

Ms. Calhoun has served the board for nine years. She said she went to school at Indian River and is amazed by the growth created by Fort Drum.

Board President Frank J. Laverghetta said she contributed much of her personal time to advocate for federal impact aid in Washington, D.C.

Many others were sad to see her go, as well.

“Rhonda was an outstanding board member who contributed greatly to board and buildings and grounds meetings,” said Superintendent James Kettrick.
