LOWVILLE Two Lewis County legislative races will feature Conservative primaries, while a third potential one was decided by state party leaders.
In District 3, Legislator Charles R. Fanning, R-Copenhagen, and Craig P. Brennan were both authorized to hold the Conservative line, as were Thomas J. Schantz and Bryan D. Moser in District 4.
The two pairings are slated to face off in both Republican and Conservative primaries in September.
Also, in District 8, Republican Lawrence L. Dolhof and Independence Party member Duane C. DeLair will also face off in a Conservative primary.
In District 7, all three candidates C. Lee Hinkleman, Jeffrey F. Beyer and Gregory M. Kulzer filed Conservative Party petitions, but the state party authorized only Mr. Hinkleman to hold its line in the November general election.
My conservative values as well as my goal of building on what we have in our own backyard agriculture, forestry and tourism is what contributed to this endorsement, Mr. Hinkleman said in a release.
They still will face off in a three-way GOP primary.
