ADAMS A village resident was killed late Thursday in an all-terrain-vehicle rollover in Jefferson Township, northeast Ohio, according to the Star Beacon, Ashtabula, Ohio.
According to the newspaper, Edward B. Blackford IV, 47, Adams, died when he was ejected from the four-person vehicle in which he was the front-seat passenger.
Mr. Blackford was a corrections officer and had traveled to Ohio for a weekend motorcycle event with his wife, Janet A.
Richard Mongell, chief coroners investigator for the Ashtabula County coroners office, told the Star Beacon that preliminary tests indicated Mr. Blackfords death was caused by blunt trauma to the head and torso. An autopsy and toxicology tests will be performed.
The paper reported that two other people in the vehicle were injured, and that one of the two was taken by helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland. The names of the other riders were not listed.
Ashtabula County Sheriff William Johnson told the newspaper that the crash is still under investigation.
