The Hammond Central School Superintendent has been fired for poor job performance.
Douglas H. McQueer was fired by the school board July 10, a day after the school board reappointed him as superintendent at its July 9 meeting.
The school board unanimously approved the firing in executive session.
School Board President Timothy W. Pitcher said he could not disclose the reason for the firing, but said it was an ongoing issue of job performance and poor evaluation scores.
Mr. McQueer has served the district as superintendent for seven years and a math teacher for 11 years.
Mr. McQueer could not be reached for comment Thursday.
