MASSENA - Bill Tracer Tracy of Massena has been named one of the 10 finalists of the first ever Blues Master talent-discovery program featuring renowned blues guitarist, Joe Bonamassa, according to a release from Guitar Center, the worlds largest retailer of musical instruments.
The finalists will perform live at Guitar Centers Blues Masters finale event July 27 at Los Angeles historical blues club, The Mint.
The show will feature performances by each of the 10 finalists, capped off by a performance by Bonamassa. The winner, selected by Bonamassa, will receive a career-launching prize package that includes cash, gear, an EP produced by Bonamassa and an opening gig on the blues legends upcoming tour.
Based on the performances at the finale event, one guitarist will be chosen to receive a career-altering opportunity for development and exposure under the mentorship of one of the biggest names in blues rock. The winner will be granted an opening slot at Bonamassas headlining show in Los Angeles this fall, $10,000 cash, and gear from Gibson, Ernie Ball, Marshall Amplification and Dunlop.
The winner will also head into the studio for a mentor session with Bonamassa and producer Kevin Shirley, who has worked with the likes of Journey, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden and more. The blues heavy weights will work with the winner to produce an EP.
Each of these 10 finalists impressed me not only with their technical skills but how they were able to showcase their personal musical styles in the songs, Bonamassa said. I am proud to partner with Guitar Center on a program that seeks to recognize, inspire and motivate the wealth of deserving, undiscovered talent that exists within the blues community.
Aspiring blues guitarists from across the United States were invited to submit their best lead guitar performance to one of the 10 official Joe Bonamassa tracks supplied by Guitar Center. All artists who entered were ranked based on their online fan growth during the first round by Yoov.io, a platform that syndicates and measures content engagement throughout web.
In the second round, the top-ranked artists were reviewed personally by Bonamassa who handpicked the 10 finalists.
