Watertown police charged a city man early Saturday after he allegedly grabbed a woman who was trying to leave his residence and threw her during a domestic dispute.

Police said Jonathan P. Pettit, 27, of 341 Keyes Ave., Apt. 4, threw Elizabeth J. Pettit, same address, onto a couch. He also grabbed a phone when she attempted to call police, putting the phone in his pocket, police said.

Charged with second-degree harassment, unlawful imprisonment and fourth-degree criminal mischief at 2:14 a.m. Saturday on the 300 block of Keyes Avenue, Mr. Pettit was held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending an appearance in City Court.

Police said Ms. Pettit has requested an order of protection.
