The North Country Mens Soccer Association won the 2013 Maple Bucket All Star Challenge on July 7 at SUNY Potsdams Maxcy Hall Turf field with a 2-1 with over the Tug Hill All Stars.
Its the first championship for the NCSSL All Stars as Tug Hill won in 2012 and 2011. In 2010 and 2009 - pick up teams anchored by members of the CKON and Ogdensburg Pepsi teams were used.
On Sunday, great end to end action was displaced.
Travis Jordan opened scoring for NCMSSA in the firstr half. But Zack Fish knotted the game for Tug Hill late in the half for a 1-1 halftime tie.
NCMSSA All Stars controlled much of the second half pounding out numerous chances on goal including a shot off the cross bar by Lightning Strike Ricky Stevenson. Mike Yeh figured out the Tug Hill keeper, Ben Hitchcock, with five minutes left for the game winner.
Ben Steinburg, Sash Tokarevm Al Davis and Jordan Kendall combined in net for NCMSSA.

Next year, the Maple Bucket All Star Challenge will be hosted in Lowville.
