GLENFIELD — Kyle T. Simpson, 18, of 6813 Pine Grove Road, was charged Wednesday by Lewis County sheriff’s deputies with endangering the welfare of a child.

Deputies said they received a call from a passing motorist about 7:30 a.m. reporting that a young boy was found walking along Pine Grove Road in the town of Watson. The motorist stayed with the child until deputies arrived, but it is alleged that Mr. Simpson, who was in charge of the 3-year-old child, did not show up looking for the boy for about 40 minutes. Deputies said the child had left his family’s residence undetected by Mr. Simpson.

Mr. Simpson was issued an appearance ticket for Watson Town Court. Lewis County Child Protective Services is assisting in the investigation.
