COPENHAGEN — The Denmark town Planning Board will hold a public hearing on the proposed Copenhagen Wind Farm’s draft Environmental Impact Statement.

The hearing is set for 7 p.m. today in the gymnasium at Copenhagen Central School on Mechanic Street.

Brooklyn wind developer OwnEnergy Inc., along with local partners, is proposing a $198.5 million project that would include 49 turbines in the town of Denmark and a 115-kilovolt overhead power line running about 9 miles through the towns of Champion, Rutland and Watertown to connect with a National Grid substation near Burrville.

The Planning Board will additionally accept written comments through July 23 at the town office on Roberts Road, by fax at 493-4809 or by email at denmarkplanningboard@gmail.com.

The full impact statement is accessible at http://wdt.me/Y2obSJ.
