ALEXANDRIA BAY Jefferson County sheriffs deputies say a Fishers Landing mans sneezing fit caused him to lose control of his vehicle on Interstate 81 and crash Wednesday night.
Deputies said Harry C. Chalk, 21, of 41978 Orleans Ave., was traveling on the interstate in the town of Alexandria about 8:15 p.m. when he began to uncontrollably sneeze. His vehicle left the highway on an exit ramp, struck a signpost and became airborne for about 80 feet before landing, rolling over onto its top and striking a tree.
Mr. Chalk was taken to Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, for treatment of what deputies described as non-life-threatening injuries, including a cut to his head. No tickets were issued.
