NICHOLVILLE — Slic Network Solutions will debut its new television service at an open house in hree separate one-hour sessions beginning at 4 p.m., 5 p.m., and 6 p.m. July 16 at the Dickinson Town Hall, 339 Aiken Rd., Dickinson Center.

The new television service, called Evolution Television (myEVTV.com), is now available throughout Slic’s Franklin County Service areas.

The debut follows a six week soft-launch period where existing Slic customers could “test drive” the new service and provide feedback as Slic finalized the offering.

myEVTV.com takes advantage of the tremendous amounts of bandwidth available on Slic’s 100 percent fiber optic to deliver a “next generation” television experience with multiple high-definition video streams, over-the-top (OTT) video on demand services like Vudu, and hybrid web content (web pages, email, etc.) over a single a connection.

The myEVTV.com channel line-up will be offered in two tiers. The first, mySelect TV, features 80+ channels including local affiliates for FOX, NBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS. In addition, mySelect TV offers many area favorites like History, Disney, ESPN, HGTV, Comedy Central and many more. Sports enthusiasts will appreciate the inclusion of Yes Network, NFL Network and SNY Sports among others.

The second tier of service, myEnhanced TV, features 91 additional channels including 50 CD quality music stations.

“Triple-play” bundles combine high-speed internet, phone and television services with packages starting at $124.95. When compared to other rural services like satellite Internet and TV and phone service, myChoice represents a $40 savings.

“These are premium grade services delivered over a 100 percent fiber-optic network to rural homes and business right here in upstate NY at what are proving to be an extremely valuable price points,” according to Jeff Yette, sales engineer at Slic Network Solutions. “These are the types of service that until recently have only been made available in metropolitan areas.” Customers can enhance their experience with add-on services like faster Internet speeds, unlimited long distance in the U.S. and Canada, additional set-top boxes for additional televisions, HD module for access to more than 65 High Definition channels, Whole Home DVR and premium content like HBO, Starz, Cinemax, Showtime and NFLRedZone.

Area residents are invited to attend one of the three sessions, which consist of a 20-30 minute presentation including a live demo of the Television service, followed by a Question and Answer period. Slic will have customer service representatives on hand to answer questions and process orders.

The service is scheduled to launch in Slic’s St. Lawrence County service areas in a few weeks with similar open house events planned in those areas.
