THERESA — A Webster man is accused of trying to choke his girlfriend during a domestic dispute early Monday in the town of Theresa.

Jeffrey F. Terry, 50, was charged about 4:20 a.m. by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, second-degree harassment and resisting arrest.

Deputies said he tried to strangle his girlfriend, Tracy Meyer, and allegedly struck and pushed her during an incident near Cottage Hill Road. Deputies said they apprehended him after tracking him about a mile into the woods.

He was arraigned in Town Court and sent to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, Watertown, with bail set at $5,000.
