Three months after opening, Cape Airs Ogdensburg ticket office will have an official coming out party.
A ribbon-cutting and open house will be held at the downtown ticket office, 318 Ford St., on July 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
We look forward to inviting the community to stop by our open house to meet our staff and to see what our operation is all about, said Jacqueline B. Donohoo, the airlines Northeast marketing manager.
The office opened on May 1 and, according to Ms. Donohoo, its presence has been a success.
The office has been working out great, she said Friday. The agents at the office are busy with both walk-in customers and phone reservations.
The satisfaction is mutual.
Were very happy that theyre downtown, said City Manager John M. Pinkerton, adding that Canadians are likely to do business at the ticket office and that its, and the citys, popularity will spread.
Its a way to bring in tourists, he said.
The office has two part-time employees and is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The ticket office occupies 500 square feet of the front section of the buildings first floor. It was formerly occupied by the St. Lawrence Child Care Council, which relocated to 314 Ford St.
We were really able to make the place our own through small renovations and decorating, Ms. Donohoo said.
Massachusetts-based Cape Air provides commuter air service to Ogdensburg and Massena international airports.
Cape Airs other ticket office in the county is located at 40 Main St., Massena.
