NEWARK — The Newark Pilots scored five runs in the fifth inning to pull ahead and capture a 7-4 victory over the Watertown Rams in Saturday’s Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League West Division matchup.

Newark improved to 7-6 and leads the division by a game over Elmira. Watertown (5-8) is tied with Adirondack for third place, just two games back of Newark.

Jacob Russell and David Vandercook hit back-to-back, run-scoring triples to highlight the fifth for the Pilots.

Bryce Greager launched a three-run home run in the second inning for the Rams, who led 4-0 entering the fifth.

Watertown will host Mohawk Valley at 5 p.m. today at the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds.
