Crop, soil specialist joins Cornell extension in St. Lawrence County

CANTON — Kitty O’Neil has begun work as a regional field crops and soils specialist with Cornell Cooperative Extension, serving farmers in St. Lawrence, Franklin, Clinton and Essex counties.

Ms. O’Neil grew up on a dairy farm in Cayuga County. She has an animal science degree from Cornell University and a master’s degree in forages and dairy nutrition from Michigan State University.

She recently earned a doctorate in Michigan after years of research on potato growing.
