The Northern Border Regional Commission announced Wednesday it intends to award roughly $1.2 million to support job creation projects in communities along the U.S.-Canadian border.
In a released statement, Rep. William L. Owens, D-Plattsburgh, urged his constituents to apply for the money.
The Northern Border Regional Commission is designed to support projects that will help create or retain jobs in our community, he said.
Grants will be awarded later this year to projects that address infrastructure, job training and tourism-related issues.
