Eric J. Warner

LISBON –Funeral Director Eric J. Warner is vying for one of two open St. Lawrence County coroner seats in November.

“From this area west, from Lisbon towards Watertown, we don’t have a coroner who can immediately serve this side of the county,” Mr. Warner said Monday.

Mr. Warner, who received his funeral director license from SUNY Canton in 2002, assists customers from different funeral homes throughout the county.

Mr. Warner raises Clydesdales at his farm with his wife, Keira C., and is a member of the St. Lawrence County Draft Horse Association. He is also an organist for St. John’s Episcopal Church, Ogdensburg, and the director of Pro-Musica.

“I’m a community-oriented person,” he said. “You have to have compassion when you do this job. The family comes first, and you want to make it as easy as possible for them.”

Kevin J. Crosby

MORRISTOWN — Morristown Fire Department Chief Kevin J. Crosby is running for one of two open St. Lawrence County coroner positions in November.

“With the pending retirement of R.B. Lawrence from the coroner’s office, I feel it is important to have a coroner serving this part of St. Lawrence County,” Mr. Crosby said in an emailed statement. “I believe my experience in the fire and EMS fields will make me a perfect fit to be elected to the position of coroner.”

The Morristown native is the village’s public works superintendent and a 22-year member of the fire department and rescue squad, the last 17 of which he has served as fire chief.
