Kammiekka Barnes went 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs, and won both games on the mound as the top-seeded Indian River softball team used a high-powered offense to win the Frontier League “A” Division playoffs with a 17-2 victory over Carthage in the championship game at Jefferson Community College on Thursday.

Haley Prudhomme belted out three hits, including a triple, and drove in two runs for the Warriors (11-7).

Courtney Cunningham provided three hits for the Comets (3-11) and Morgan Bush drove in both runs.

INDIAN RIVER 18, IHC 3

Tori Clyde drove home four runs as the Warriors downed the Cavaliers (4-10) in the semifinals at JCC.

Heidi Amato and Lakiesha Barnes each tripled twice for Indian River (10-7).

CARTHAGE 11, WATERTOWN 7

Cunningham belted two home runs, a double and recorded five RBIs as the Comets beat the Cyclones in the semifinals at the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds.

Allyson Millard collected four hits for Carthage (3-10).

Tara Blair socked a three-run triple in the fourth for Watertown (3-13).

SOUTH JEFFERSON 9, THOUSAND ISLANDS 3

Brooke LaLone struck out eight and slapped a pair of hits as the Spartans wrapped up the “B” Division regular-season crown with a crossover victory in Adams Center.

Jackie Decker plated a pair of runs and ripped a double for South Jefferson (15-3, 15-2).

Lindsey Barton contributed a triple for Thousand Islands (7-9).

SANDY CREEK 6, GENERAL BROWN 0

Chelsea Claflin struck out 12 in a complete-game shutout and drove in a pair of runs as the Comets blanked the Lions (15-4, 14-3) in a crossover game at Sandy Creek.

Michaela Martin went 2-for-3 with a double for Sandy Creek (16-1, 15-1).

A-P-W 6, BEAVER RIVER 2

Amber Rice tossed a five-hitter, striking out seven, and didn’t allow an earned run or issue walk to earn the win as the Rebels won a crossover game in Beaver Falls.

Erin Stever tripled and singled twice for A-P-W (14-4, 14-3). Bobbi Hoffman doubled, singled and drove in two runs.

Abigail Cornell singled twice for the Beavers (5-11).

SOUTH LEWIS 8, LOWVILLE 6

Drianna Crofoot went 3-for-4 with an RBI as the Falcons outlasted the Red Raiders in a “C” Division game at Turin.

Jaeden Ossant and Jayne Strigle each added two hits and an RBI for South Lewis (13-5, 11-5).

Haley Riley paced Lowville (6-11) with two hits and two RBIs.

BASEBALL

SOUTH JEFFERSON 12, THOUSAND ISLANDS 7

Marcus Shelmidine drove in four runs on three hits as the Spartans wrapped up the regular season with a crossover win over the Vikings in Adams.

Cameron Heasley brought home three runs for South Jefferson (7-11, 6-11).

Brentyn Horton provided two hits and two RBIs for Thousand Islands (14-4, 13-4).

SANDY CREEK 4, GENERAL BROWN 3

Jarod Williams slapped a walkoff two-run single in the seventh to cap a Comets’ rally to beat the Lions in crossover play at Sandy Creek.

Ben Sheppard tripled to start the inning for Sandy Creek (7-9).

Erik Wollum recorded three singles for General Brown (4-14, 3-14).

SOUTH LEWIS 24, ADIRONDACK 0

Hunter Jones and Jake Vanbeber each generated four RBIs as the Falcons blanked the Wildcats (6-11) in a nonleague game at Boonville.

Jason Martin went 5-for-6 with three RBIs for South Lewis (16-2).

BOYS LACROSSE

SKANEATELES 13, GENERAL BROWN 4

Tyler Strods scored three goals and assisted on two others to pace the seventh-seeded Lakers past the 10th-seeded Lions in a Class C first-round game in Skaneateles.

Owen Kuhns recorded two goals and two assists for Skaneateles (11-6).

Cole Johnson scored two goals and assisted on another for General Brown (11-6).

Michael Roukous registered a goal and an assist for the Lions.

HOMER 18, IHC 2

Sean Ferrito scored three goals and registered two assists to propel the sixth-seeded Trojans past the 11th-seeded Cavaliers in a Class C first-round game in Homer.

Casey Cleary also tallied three goals and an assist for Homer (11-6).

Nick Gervera and Matt Moran each scored a goal to pace the Cavaliers (8-9).
