Norfolk woman jailed on welfare fraud charge

FALSE INSTRUMENT - NORFOLK - St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies charged Anne P. Louissaint, 52, of 16 Morris St., Norfolk, with third-degree welfare fraud and two counts of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing . She reportedly submitted applications for Medicaid and food stamps that contained false information. The investigation conducted by the St. Lawrence County Department of Social Services Investigations Unit determined Louissaint had received $9.170.26 between April 1, 2010 and Sept. 30, 2011. She was arraigned in Norfolk Town Court and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
