Raabe takes modified victory at Evans Mills

Chris Raabe led the modifieds across the finish line for the victory Saturday night at the Evans Mills Speedway. Brandon Sweet and Jordan McCreadie finished second and third, respectively.

John Williams won the thunder stock feature with Dan Swem and Scott McCarthy finishing a respective second and third. Veteran driver Ray Bancroft won the super stocks feature with Chris Typhair and Rick Ziegler finishing in the top three. Chris Zieren held off Mike Maresco and Taylor Doxtater to win the legends feature.

In other features, Amanda DeFoe and Andrew Armstrong couldn’t catch Tim Dunn across the finish line in the legends race. In the trucks feature Trevor Halliday held off a challenge by Randy Mooney and Zac Strough. In the junior race Tristan Baez won the feature with Sam Warren and Matt McLean finished behind the winner.

n Tim McCreadie of Watertown finished 19th after appearing to be en route to victory Saturday night in the World of Outlaws late model series race at the 1-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark. On lap 45 of the 50-lap feature, McCreadie’s car spun out of control between turns three and four when he was involved in an accident as he attempted to pass a lapped car. McCreadie had taken the lead on lap 43. Tim Fuller of Watertown crossed the finish line in 11th place, while Shane Clanton of Zebulon, Ga., was the winner.

n Watertown’s Billy Dunn beat some of the top big-block modified drivers to the finish line in the feature Saturday night at the Canandaigua Speedway. It was Dunn’s first victory at the speedway this season. Matt Sheppard finished second and Jimmy Phelps took third.

n Dexter native Robbie Bellinger finished second behind Chad Phelps on Saturday night in the big-block modified feature at the Fulton Speedway. At Oswego Speedway, Davey Hamilton claimed the supermodified feature Saturday night, while Mark Castiglia beat the field in the small-block supermodified feature.
