PARISHVILLE — Katie Ames threw a shutout in game one as the Norwood-Norfolk softball team swept Parishville-Hopkinton 17-0 and 6-2 in a Northern Athletic Conference interdivision doubleheader Wednesday.

Courtney Wagstaff doubled for the Flyers (11-2 overall, 9-2 division) in game one, and Kodi Perkins went 2-for-3 to lead the Panthers (4-7).

Ames was the winning pitcher in game two as well.

ST. LAWRENCE 5, COLTON-PIERREPONT 0

Lindsay Thayer struck out 11 to lead St. Lawrence Central past Colton-Pierrepont (6-8, 6-6) in an interdivision game in South Colton.

Chelsea Savage hit a two-run homer and added two singles for the Larries (13-2, 11-1).

CHATEAUGAY 9-6, MADRID-WADDINGTON 1-1

Courtney Boyea struck out six in the opener and produced two hits as the Bulldogs swept the Yellow Jackets (4-9, 3-8) in an interdivision game in Chateaugay.

Abby Barnes hit a two-run homer in game one for Chateaugay (6-4). Hannah Cook produced two hits in game one.

HARRISVILLE 15, CLIFTOn-FINE 8

Jena Soper’s three hits helped Harrisville (5-8, 5-6) defeat Clifton-Fine in a West Division game at Star Lake.

Kristen Mee produced three hits for the Eagles (2-9).

MASSENA 19, POTSDAM 1

Vanessa Kirkey struck out nine to help the Red Raiders defeat the Sandstoners (1-7, 1-5) in a Central Division game in Massena.

Sam Villnave doubled twice for the Red Raiders (4-4). Chelsea Streeter and Bailey Dillabough both produced two-hit games.

MALONE 20-9, SALMON RIVER 1-1

Alissa McCauley and Annie Sharlow each threw no-hitters in an unusual doubleheader as the Huskies swept the Shamrocks (1-7) in a Central Division game in Malone.

McCauley won the opening game, striking out nine in a game that was halted on April 16 and was finished Wednesday.

Sharlow struck out 10 in game two for the Huskies (9-0).

Brooke Collins went 3-for-3 for the Huskies in game two, and Sharlow hit a grand slam.

BASEBALL

POTSDAM 7, MASSENA 4

Will Coleman struck out 17 to lead the Sandstoners past the Red Raiders (5-8, 3-5) in a Central Division game in Massena.

Trevor Keleher hit a two-run homer for the Sandstoners (9-2, 7-1). Coleman, Mark Maroney, Ben Miller and Brandon Noble each produced two-hit games for Potsdam.

MALONE 12-17, SALMON RIVER 1-3

Alex Johnson lined three hits in the opener as the Huskies swept the Shamrocks (1-8, 1-7) in a Central Division doubleheader in Malone.

Blayke Lewis hit a home run for Malone (8-2, 6-1) in the opener. Shawn Mulverhill produced a two-hit game for the Huskies in the second game.

NORWOOD-NORFOLK 15-9, PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 1-1

Brandon Short threw a three-hitter and struck out 11 in the first game of an East Division doubleheader as the Flyers swept the Panthers (5-7) in Parishville.

Cody Smith hit a three-run homer in the opener for the Flyers (11-1, 9-0). Short produced two hits in game two for Norwood-Norfolk.

IHC 6, HARRISVILLE 1

Jake Fusilli pitched a complete game, striking out 10, during the Cavaliers’ nonleague victory over the Pirates at the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds.

Taylor Campanaro smacked a two-RBI double, while Austyn Frechette and Robin Massey each finished 2-for-3 for Immaculate Heart Central (8-4).

Jared Dreythaler provided two hits for Harrisville (11-3).

GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD

MADRID-WADDINGTON 140, MASSENA 96

Taylor Lenney won the long jump, 100 meters and 200 meters to lead the Yellow Jackets past the Red Raiders (4-3) in Massena.

Katie Marcellus won the shot put and discus for Madrid-Waddington (6-1).

CANTON TAKES TWO

Carly Whiteford won the 100 hurdles and 400 hurdles to lead Canton (6-1) to a 174-121 win over Gouverneur and a 157-80 win over Tupper Lake in a double-dual meet at Tupper Lake. Gouverneur (3-5) defeated Tupper Lake 170-89.

Madi Fortier won the 100 and 200 for Tupper Lake (1-7). Samantha Ormbsy won the long jump and triple jump, and Katie Zurek finished first in the shot put and discus for Tupper Lake.

BOYS TRACK AND FIELD

MADRID-WADDINGTON 157, MASSENA 150

Nick Zeledon won both the 110 and 400 hurdles as the Yellow Jackets edged the Red Raiders (3-4) in Massena.

Austin Scott claimed the 800 and 3,200 for Madrid-Waddington (4-3). Ian Hawkins claimed the shot put and discus. Massena was led by Andrew Brush, who won the 100 and long jump.

WILDCATS WIN TWICE

Jose Flores, Mark Horne and Troy Gates each won two events to lead Gouverneur to a 145-79 win over Canton and a 171-33 win over Tupper Lake (0-7) in a double-dual meet in Tupper Lake. Canton defeated the Lumberjacks 128-40.

Flores won the 100 and 200 for Gouverneur (8-0). Horne won the 110 hurdles and triple jump and Troy Gates won the 800 and shot put. Evan LaPoint won the 400, high jump and discus to lead Canton (2-5).
