NAC roundup: Day highlights Shamrocks win

CANTON — Dalston Day scored three goals and set up five others to lead the Salmon River boys lacrosse team to a 19-7 victory over Canton in a Northern Athletic Conference game Monday.

Skylar Thomas led Salmon River (10-0 overall and division) with five goals. Frank David scored three goals and Kason Tarbell, Trenton Tarbell, Sky Sunday and Lakota Square each scored twice for Salmon River.

Josh Pierson led Canton (8-3) with two goals and one assist. Jack Elberty added a goal and two assists for Canton.

ST. LAWRENCE 7, OFA 3

Cody Burns and Marshall Burninghausen both scored three goals to lead the Larries (9-2) past the Blue Devils in Ogdensburg.

Skyler Burns added one goal and one assist for the Larries. Jake Garrison led OFA (2-9, 2-8) with a two-goal effort.

BASEBALL

PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTOn 2, ST. LAWRENCE 1

Riley Doyle singled with one out in the top of the seventh to score Tanner Wilson from third with the go-ahead run as the Panthers (5-5) defeated the Larries in an East Division game in Brasher Falls.

St. Lawrence (6-4, 6-3) made three errors in the top of the seventh.

Mike Burns struck out 10 for the Panthers and walked just two. Devon Euto went 3-for-4 to lead the Larries and Hayden St. Hilaire struck out 10.

NORWOOD-NORFOLK 23-5, ST. REGIS FALLS 5-1

Cody Smith homered in both games to lead Norwood-Norfolk to a sweep of St. Regis Falls (1-6) in an East Division doubleheader in St. Regis Falls.

Smith went 2-for-3 in game one and was 2-for-2 in game two for the Flyers (9-1, 7-0). Kyle Sawyer went 3-for-3 in the opener and Brandon Short went 2-for-3. Tristan Harvey and Kolby Munson both produced two hits in game two for the Flyers.

CHATEAUGAY 7, TUPPER LAKE 3

Nick Ashline struck out 12 to lead the Bulldogs past the Lumberjacks (2-7) in an East Division contest in Tupper Lake.

Cody Smith went 2-for-3 for Chateaugay (2-5), and Greg Holmes drove in two runs with a double, snapping a 3-3 tie in the ninth inning.

CLIFTON-FINE 23, HERMON-DEKALB 12

Matt Russell homered and singled twice to lead the Eagles (4-6) past the Demons in a West Division game at Star Lake.

Logan Hayes, Austin Kerr and Jake Folsom each produced three hits for the Eagles. Cameron Hance led the Demons (1-10) with three hits and Adam Harmer and Pat Perry added two.

OFA 16, SALMON RIVER 0

Konnor Murdock produced four hits, including a triple and double, and drove in four runs as OFA defeated Salmon River (1-6, 1-5) in a Central Division game at Fort Covington.

Seth Pinkerton doubled twice and also singled for the Blue Devils (7-1). Andrew Cole and Brendan Arsenault produced three hits.

Jarrid Gray singled twice for Salmon River.

SOFTBALL

CANTON 16, MASSENA 6

Beth Pearson and Emma Rexford combined to strike out 10 as the Golden Bears defeated the Red Raiders (3-4) in a Central Division game in Massena.

Janelle Sovie tripled and singled for Canton (3-4, 3-2) and Rexford, Kaeli Mace and Lauren Smith each finished with two hits.

OFA 11, SALMON RIVER 1

Brittany Barr struck out seven to help the Blue Devils defeat the Shamrocks (1-5) in a Central Division game in Fort Covington.

Mollie Ahrens went 3-for-4 for the Blue Devils (6-2).

Stacy Barr, Felicia Barr, Jocelyn Fifield and Riley Luckie all produced two hits for OFA.

HERMON-DEKALB 15, CLIFTON-FINE 5

Clarissa Davis homered and singled twice to lead the Demons (3-10, 2-9) past the Eagles in a West Division game at Star Lake.

Chelsey MacKay, Rhys Brant and Sabrina Wood each produced two-hit games for Hermon-DeKalb.

Malory Folsom lined three hits and Delaney Kerr provided two for the Eagles (2-8).

ST. LAWRENCE 15, PARISHVILLe-HOPKINTON 3

Noel Rufa went 3-for-3 to pace St. Lawrence to a win over Parishville-Hopkinton (4-5) in an interdivision game at Brasher Falls. Haleigh Ganes went 2-for-3, including a home run for the Larries (11-2, 9-1).

COLTOn-PIERREPONT 11, MADRID-WADDINGTON 9

Sabrina Johnson struck out 10 to help Colton-Pierrepont defeat Madrid-Waddington (4-7, 3-6) in an interdivision game in South Colton.

Morgan Dyle hit a two-run homer for the Colts (6-7, 6-5), and Eve Whalen singled twice.

NORWOOD-NORFOLK 23-8, ST. REGIS FALLS 1-3

Micky Fregoe went 4-for-4 and drove in six runs in the opener as Norwood-Norfolk swept St. Regis Falls (1-7) in a doubleheader in St. Regis Falls.

Aleah Palmer and Courtney Harvey produced three hits in game one for the Flyers (10-2, 8-2). Carley Weaver homered in game two and Alisabeth Furnace and Miranda Langtry each produced two hits.

CHATEAUGAY 20, TUPPER LAKE 3

Abby Barnes singled twice and hit a two-run homer to lead the Bulldogs past the Lumberjacks (0-10) in an interdivision game in Tupper Lake.

Courtney Boyea and Hannah Cook produced three hits for the Bulldogs (4-4) and Kim Reville homered.

EDWARDs-KNOX 42, POTSDAM 5

Shaye Taylor led the Cougars (7-4) with a three-hit game in a nonleague win over the Sandstoners in Potsdam.

Edwards-Knox took advantage of 37 walks and nine errors.

Kelsey Green lined two hits for Potsdam (1-6).
