CHAUMONT A Syracuse woman was arrested after she unlawfully took her daughter from the care of the Jefferson Rehabilitation Center and deputies spent almost an entire day looking for them, according to the Jefferson County Sheriffs Department.
Adria M. Hall, 53, of 4101 E. Genesee St., Syracuse, was charged Saturday morning with second-degree custodial interference after she allegedly took her daughter, Tamara V. Hall, 39, from a JRC residence at 12291 Route 12E about 7:15 a.m. Friday when she had no lawful right to do so, deputies said.
The daughter, who was described as a vulnerable adult with physical and mental handicaps, had been placed in the care and custody of JRC staff and her mother did not have permission to take her, deputies said.
Cicero police found the two women and they were turned over to Jefferson County sheriffs deputies Saturday morning at the Tinker Tavern Road exit of Interstate 81, in the town of Altmar. Deputies said they believed the two were in Syracuse. Tamara Hall was taken back to the JRC residence, they said.
Adria Hall was arraigned in Lyme Town Court and taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, Watertown, on $2,500 bail.
