New York loves its parks and so does Ogdensburg.
The city will take part Saturday in a statewide observance of I Love My Park Day as proclaimed by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo.
Mayor William D. Nelson is asking that the public and members of the citys service clubs and join together to clean up the citys 2.2-mile Maple City Trail along the Oswegatchie River, beginning at 9 a.m.
I think that this is a great project, the mayor said Wednesday.
He said he was pleased with the cleanup that a city Public Works Department crew recently completed on the trail and nearby Crescent Hill.
The city will supply garbage bags at Saturdays cleanup day. Participants are asked to bring rakes and to wear gloves and boots.
The Ogdensburg Kiwanis Club will hold a barbecue for participants at the Dobisky Visitors Center after the event.
