PARISHVILLE The Tupper Lake baseball team overcame an early two-run deficit and defeated Parishville-Hopkinton 8-5 in a Northern Athletic Conference East Division game Friday.
Mitch Keniston struck out 10 for Tupper Lake (1-1 overall and division). Marcus Richer, Kris Crouse and Anson Gagnier each had two hits for the Lumberjacks.
Mike Burns struck out 12 for the Panthers (0-1) and had two hits with two RBIs.
POTSDAM 11, MALONE 2
Ben Miller struck out nine to lead Potsdam past the Huskies (1-1) in a nonleague game in Malone.
The Sandstoners (3-0) took advantage of 16 walks, and Mark Maroney led the offense, going 2-for-4.
MASSENA 7, ST. LAWRENCE 6
Isaiah Dillabough drove in two runs with a single in the fourth inning to help pace the Red Raiders past the Larries (1-2) in a nonleague game in Massena.
Josh LaShomb was the winning pitcher in relief for Massena (1-2), giving up just one run in 3 2/3 innings.
SOUTH LEWIS 16, BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 0 (5)
Lucas Kelly singled three times and drove in four runs to pace the Falcons to a Frontier League crossover victory in Belleville in a game shortened to five innings by inclement weather.
Jason Martin tripled, singled and drove in two runs for South Lewis (3-1).
Dominic Ventura homered, Hunter Jones doubled and Cody Capron singled twice for the Falcons.
Winning pitcher Wyatt Marolf allowed only one hit in five innings of work.
Belleville Henderson is 2-2.
PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 21, TUPPER LAKE 6
Cassara Cole, Betty Converse and Caitlin McGregory each produced three hits as the Panthers (3-0) defeated the Lumberjacks in a Northern Athletic Conference interdivision game in Parishville.
Marlie Wilson supplied two hits, including a home run, and Mary Coventry also had two hits for Parishville-Hopkinton.
Mallory McLear smacked a home run for Tupper Lake (0-1), and Nikki Jessie went 2-for-2.
SOUTH LEWIS 10, BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 1 (6)
Marissa Brown gave up only two hits in a complete-game effort as the Falcons earned a rain-shortened Frontier League crossover victory over the Panthers in Turin.
Rachel Newell went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs for South Lewis (4-0).
Belleville Henderson dropped to 0-4.
SOUTH JEFFERSON 12, IHC 6
Clarissa Perry recorded six points, including four goals, to propel the Spartans to a Frontier League victory in Adams.
Maddie Knapp scored two goals and assisted on three others for South Jefferson (5-1, 2-1). Morgan Alexander chipped in with two goals for the Spartans. Stephanie Green, Madesyn Alexander, Sidney Hall and Hayley Maguire each scored a goal for the Spartans.
Goalie Courtney Zeigler made eight saves to notch the win for South Jefferson, which led 5-3 at halftime.
Kayla Miles scored two goals and assisted on two others for IHC (4-2, 1-2). Rachel OBrien and Shelbi McIlroy each tallied two goals.
WATERTOWN 18, INDIAN RIVER 2
Brianne Arthur provided team highs with five goals and four assists as the host Cyclones cruised to a Frontier League victory over the Warriors (4-3, 0-3).
Morgan Cadwell and Alyssa Barrett scored three goals apiece and Morgan Exford added a pair for Watertown (3-0, 2-0).
GENERAL BROWN 9, CARTHAGE 8
Hannah Peebles scored four goals to go with two assists, helping the Lions hold off a late push from the Comets for the Frontier League victory in Carthage.
Bryanna Fazio scored a goal and dished out four assists. Cayla OConnor finished with three goals and an assist for General Brown (3-2, 2-0), which was outscored 6-2 in the second half.
Doria Darroch led Carthage (1-3, 1-2) with a goal and three assists, while Mackenzie Kidder and Mariana Ames added two goals apiece.
