POTSDAM Brendon Shearin scored four goals on eight shots to lead the Clarkson University mens lacrosse team to a 13-12 win over SUNY Oswego in a nonconference game on Wednesday.
Matthew Gold and Robert Linder each scored three goals for Clarkson (6-3 overall). Matt McCabe scored one goal with three assists and Mark Nortz and Corey Herrington also scored goals for the Golden Knights.
Jimmy Cordon scored four goals for the Lakers (6-2). Connor Khammar scored three goals and Cody Hoose added two. Nick Giampaolo, Casey Balzer and Matt Palmer also scored.
ST. LAWRENCE 11, SUNY PLATTSBURGH 8
Jeremy Vautour scored four goals and assisted on another as the Saints (6-3) defeated SUNY Plattsburgh in a nonconference contest in Canton.
Davey Hovey, Mac Johnson, Tucker Garfield, Justin Ingram, Josh Robinson, Malcolm Lynch and Garrett Gagne also scored for SLU.
Brett McClelland and Nick Travers each produced two goals for the Cardinals (8-3). Tim Lawrence, Brendan Damm, Tom Duggan and Anthony Pafundi also scored for SUNY Plattsburgh.
MOUNT SAINT MARY 17, SUNY CANTON 6
Andrew Pullen scored six goals to lead the Knights (5-5) past SUNY Canton in a nonconference game in Troy.
Jake Robison scored four goals and Matt ODonnell added two for Mount Saint Mary. Nick Findlay scored one goal with seven assists.
Jason Thompson and Taylor Caswell both scored twice for the Kangaroos (4-4). Zarrien Sloan and Rob Gleason also scored.
ONONDAGA CC 17, JEFFERSON CC 5
Claire Wigler had six goals as the Lazers routed the Cannoneers in a Region 3 game at Dexter.
Taylor Smith and Jennifer Battaglini each netted three goals for Onondaga CC (6-0). Former Immaculate Heart Central standout Erin Patenaude added two goals and two assists.
Erica Gardener scored twice for Jefferson CC (2-2) and Ashley Kirch stopped 20 shots.
VASSAR 2-0, CLARKSON 1-4
Pete Roma and Jarrod Mattingly combined on a three-hit shutout in game two to help Clarkson (6-8, 3-3) gain a split of a Liberty League doubleheader with Vassar in Poughkeepsie.
Roma pitched five innings, struck out six and allowed two hits to get the win. Mattingly threw the final two innings for Clarkson.
Vassar (7-6, 3-3) won the opener in 11 innings when Dave Robbins drove in Sean Morash with the winning run. Brett Zaziski went 4-for-5 for Vassar in the opener.
David Wixted, Connor Martin and Scott Morrissey each had two hits for Clarkson in the opener.
