CANTON - St. Lawrence County Sheriffs Department deputies picked up Kevin D. Campbell, 33, of 61 County Route 56, Parishville, on an arrest warrant charging him with a misdemeanor count of animal cruelty following an incident reported to police on Monday. Campbell allegedly failed to provide adequate food, water and shelter for his dog over a three-day period. When he was being taken into custody on the arrest warrant at 863 state Route 420 in the town of Stockholm, he was found to be in possession of five pills identified as Adderall XR. He was additionally charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Campbell was arraigned on the warrant by Pierrepont Town Justice Robert Camp and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $500 cash. He made his first appearance later in the week in Parishville Town Court on the animal cruelty charge, and bail was continued at $500 cash. He was arraigned on the drug count by Stockholm Town Justice Wayne Williams and sent back to the county jail with bail set at $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond.
