Lewis E. DeShane, 79, of 206 Main Ave., was charged Thursday afternoon by Watertown police with fourth-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, falsifying business records and resisting arrest.
Police said he had three people take a 2000 Buick Park Avenue from Louise Pitts. The car, valued at $3,600, was taken from 316 Gale St., then parked at Mr. DeShanes property on Tuesday, police said.
He also is accused of giving police incorrect information about the car. During the arrest, police said, he pulled away from them while they handcuffed him.
Mr. DeShane was taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment.
