Shawna M. Bowman, 18, of 729 W. Main St., Apt. 38, was charged Thursday by city police with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

She is accused of possessing a $24 purse taken from the Family Dollar store, 146 Arsenal St., earlier in the day. She was given an appearance ticket for City Court.
