CLERMONT, Fla. — St. Lawrence University softball pitcher Kyle Plimpton set a program record for strikeouts in just her sophomore year on Monday.

Plimpton was only seven strikeouts shy of Rachel Duffany’s record of 194 entering a game against Westfield State. Plimpton set the record in the fourth inning of the 4-1 win on her way to an 11-strikeout performance against the Owls. She now has a career total of 198.
