OGDENSBURG - The Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad renovation won’t be finished by Friday as scheduled because a generator to provide backup power the building won’t be delivered by then.

Completion of the $1.6 million renovation is now set for mid-April.

“It’s been pushed back,” Squad Director of Operations Kenneth J. Gardner said Tuesday. “We’re just waiting patiently.”

Renovations began last November at the squad-owned former Hackett Hardware store at 1223 Pickering St.

The squad is currently located at 101 State St. Its lease there with the Ogdensburg Housing Authority is set to expire at the end of this year.
