CANTON - Three Saint athletes will represent the St. Lawrence University women’s indoor track and field team at the 2013 NCAA Division III Championships being held at North Central College in Illinois later this week.

Sophomore Divya Biswal will compete in the triple jump, first-year Marissa Turner in the high jump and classmate Ella Martin will run in the 5000 meter championship.

Biswal, who just missed NCAA qualification in the triple jump in last spring’s outdoor season, improved the Saint record in the indoor triple jump in each of her last three meets. She will compete at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Turner, who jumped a SLU indoor record 1.63 meters in her first collegiate meet and then improved the record to 1.68 meters in her next meet made the field on a tie-breaker.

Martin will make her second NCAA championship appearance in as many seasons as she had the best rookie finish in SLU cross country program history in the NCAA Division III championship in that sport in the fall. Her 17:13.25 at Tufts on Saturday jump ed her into 13th position on the qualifying chart and into the title race at North Central.
