To The Editor:

A recent jamboree held for cancer patient Claudia Perry was an overwhelming success thanks to some very special people. There are so many to thank – from the bands to the workers and everyone who donated food, money, time and energy. There is no way to thank each of you by name, but you have to know that Claudia and her family are so very grateful to you all.

All of the businesses who stepped up to the plate and donated items for the raffles, you helped so much more than you know.

First the bands: host band The Charlton Brothers, Pure Country, Jim Fitzgerald and the Star Lighters, Cross Walk, and Skip Savage and North Country, you drew in the crowd, and we are so grateful for your contribution. Thanks to the businesses: first and foremost the Amvets for allowing us the use of the hall at Post 19, the bartenders who worked tirelessly, the Auxiliary women who are always willing to assist, Millers Green House, Parkway, Regans Collision, DaVinci’s, Wood Chop Shop, NAC Logo, Basta’s Flowers, Pepsi-Cola Ogdensburg Bottlers, Freight House, Cappione, House of Photography & Imagery, Walmart, Key Bank, Ed-Med Federal Credit Union, Farrand’s Flowers, Carbino’s, Cobblestone, Mort Backus and Sons, North Country Savings Bank, Phillips Diner (Ann Montroy), Kinney Drugs, Jreck Subs, Heuvelton Agway, Gary and Ailene’s, Dollar General, Price Chopper, Walgreens, Jones Tire, Myers Pub, Pizza Hut, Donut King, Busters, Ogdensburg Bowling Alley, Twin Bridges, Bradleys Gas Station, Maple City, Latham’s, Gerry’s Liquor, Hair Express, NiceN’Easy, Dixie Lee, Cutting Edge, 1020 Salon and Little Italy. Claudia and her family are eternally grateful to these businesses for their generosity.

To all those wonderful people who helped the day of the jamboree, if we try to name everyone we will surely miss someone, but you each know that this event couldn’t take place without all of you working together to make it a success. From the people in the kitchen, at the doors, manning the tables, managing the set up in the morning, the clean up after and everyone in between, thank you so much.

And to those of you who came and donated your money from the kindness of your heart,we applaud you as well, for without those dollars we couldn’t call this the success that we do.
