■ CAPE VINCENT — The town’s zoning officer, James Millington, will be away Wednesday through March 4 and his office will be closed Tuesday.

n Jefferson County Public Health Service Director Jean A. Bilow will remain on staff part time after her retirement Thursday to fill temporarily the director of patient services post, which will be vacated by Ginger B. Hall once she takes over as public health director Friday.

n State Agriculture Commissioner Darrel J. Aubertine announced Friday that for the first time, state residents may help select the 2013 State Fair theme. Ideas may be submitted via email by March 15 to statefairideas@agriculture.ny.gov. The fair will run from Aug. 22 to Sept. 2.
