Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center CEO Mark Webster has been renamed to another two-year term to the board of trustees of the Healthcare Association of New York State.

Albany-based HANYS announced the re-appointment as part of its board elections.

Mr. Webster has been Claxton-Hepburn’s CEO for nine years.

HANYS, according to its website, is “the only statewide hospital and continuing care association in New York State, representing 500 non-profit and public hospitals, nursing homes, home care agencies, and other health care organizations.”

Claxton-Hepburn board member Thomas T. Patterson applauded Mr. Webster’s re-appointment to the HANYS board as well as the organization’s role as an advocate for hospitals in Albany and Washington, D.C.

“I think it’s recognition of Mark’s abilities,” he said Wednesday. “It’s important to have that connection. And HANYS fights for us.”

Mr. Webster declined comment.

HANYS also re-elected its chairman and officers for a second term. Joseph McDonald, president and CEO of Catholic Health System in Buffalo, will serve for a second year as chairman.

The 2013 HANYS board officers are:

Chairwoman-Elect: Dr. Linda Brady, president and CEO, Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, Brooklyn.

Secretary: Dr. Scott Cooper, president and CEO, St. Barnabas Hospital, Bronx.

Treasurer: Stephens Mundy, president and CEO, Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital Medical Center, Plattsburgh.

Immediate past chairman: Dr. Herbert Pardes, executive vice chairman of the board of New York-Presbyterian Healthcare System/New York Weill Cornell Medical Center, New York City. Past chairman: Joseph Quagliata, president and CEO, South Nassau Communities Hospital, Oceanside.

Past chairman: David G. Kruczlnicki, president and CEO, Glens Falls Hospital.

Past chairman: Michael J. Dowling, president and CEO, North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, Great Neck.
