Corey Belisle scored twice and Matt Anthony stopped 33 shots as the Thousand Islands Privateers defeated the first-place Dayton Demonz, 4-2, snapping the Demonzs 12-game winning streak in a Federal Hockey League game at the Watertown Municipal Ice Arena on Thursday night.
Jamie Zaleski scored for Thousand Islands (20-25), which avenged a pair of weekend losses, including a 12-0 defeat on Saturday. Adam McAllister added an empty-net power-play goal for the Privateers, who beat the Demonz for the first time since Dec. 22.
Ahmed Mahfouz tallied both goals for Dayton (38-7), which lost for the first time since Jan. 12 when it fell to the now-defunct Williamsport Outlaws, 6-5.
