Dylan A. Wells, 21, of 302 S. Rutland St., was taken Tuesday morning to Samaritan Medical Center after he was involved in a two-vehicle crash on Route 11 in the town of LeRay.

A Jefferson County sheriff’s deputy said Mr. Wells experienced back pains. He was treated and released.

The collision occurred about 5:50 a.m. when Mr. Wells’s northbound car skidded out of control on snow-covered pavement and bounded off a guardrail, the deputy reported. His car entered the opposite lane, where it was struck on the passenger side by a southbound vehicle operated by Dustin A. Hitsman, 24, of 282 County Route 11, Gouverneur, the deputy said. Mr. Wells was cited with failure to keep right.
