Dr. Samuel A. Livingstone, Jefferson County medical examiner, performed an autopsy Monday on the remains of Robert Cheesman, 72, who died Saturday evening in a fire in his home at 44014 County Route 2 in the town of Alexandria. Information about the examination was unavailable.

State police, assisting the Jefferson County Office of Fire and Emergency Management in the investigation, have said the blaze appeared to be accidental.
