CANTON - SUNY Canton recently recognized students who excelled academically during the fall 2012 semester.

“The college’s deans and I are very proud of these students,” Interim SUNY Canton President Carli C. Schiffner said. “They are demonstrating commitment to their education and it is my great pleasure to congratulate them on their success.”

To receive President’s List honors, full-time students must earn a semester grade point average (GPA) of 3.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Among the students who earned honors for academics were:

■ Jordan A. Winters, a SUNY Canton Law Enforcement Leadership major from Lawrenceville was named to the President’s List. Winters is a 2009 graduate of St. Lawrence Central.

■ Sara J. Murray, a SUNY Canton Accounting major from Nicholville was named to the President’s List. Murray is a 1998 graduate of Parishville-Hopkinton Central School.

■ Racheal A. Duquette, a SUNY Canton Health Science Career Studies major from Nicholville was named to the President’s List. Duquette is a 2012 graduate of Saint Regis Falls Central School.

■ Philip Foley, a SUNY Canton Electrical Construction and Maintenance major from North Lawrence was named to the President’s List. Foley is a 2011 graduate of St. Lawrence Central.

■ Amber Clark, a SUNY Canton Health Science Career Studies major from Brasher Falls was named to the President’s List. Clark is a 2012 graduate of St. Lawrence Central.

■ Gabrielle Durant, a SUNY Canton Health Science Career Studies major from Brasher Falls was named to the President’s List. Durant is a 2012 graduate of St. Lawrence Central.

■ Samantha M. Thaller, a SUNY Canton Health Science Career Studies major from Brasher Falls was named to the President’s List. Thaller is a 2011 graduate of St. Lawrence Central.

■ Paul E. Todd, a SUNY Canton Alternative and Renewable Energy Systems major from Canton was named to the President’s List.

■ Shannon L. Leahey, a SUNY Canton Applied Psychology major from Canton was named to the President’s List. Leahey is a 2007 graduate of Long Beach Senior High School.

■ Robert H. Haselhurst, a SUNY Canton Civil and Environmental Technology major from Canton was named to the President’s List. Haselhurst is a 2009 graduate of St. George’s School of Montreal.

■ Adam D. Commella, a SUNY Canton Construction Technology: Management major from Canton was named to the President’s List. Commella is a 1999 graduate of Saint Johns Preparatory School.

■ Megan A. La Sala, a SUNY Canton Criminal Justice major from Canton was named to the President’s List. La Sala is a 2011 graduate of Hugh C. Williams Senior High School.

■ Kyle A. Bessy, a SUNY Canton Electrical Construction and Maintenance major from Canton was named to the President’s List. Bessy is a 2009 graduate of Hugh C. Williams Senior High School.

■ Anthony M. Mcdermott, a SUNY Canton Electrical Technology major from Canton was named to the President’s List. Mcdermott is a 2008 graduate of Carthage Central High School.
