WEST CARTHAGE The village Planning Board agreed to a change in the site plan for the Family Dollar store to be constructed at 21 N. Broad St., adjacent to Paul L. Vaniers chiropractic office.
According to Planning Board Chairman Ronald J. Blinebry, the original plan had water runoff going into a retention pond. The revised plan is to have underground piping for water to run off into the storm water system.
Mr. Blinebry said the revision was approved at Mondays meeting without objection.
Its a better plan, the chairman said. It will facilitate that site better.
Lunco Corp. plans to begin construction on the 9,180-square-foot building as soon as possible, with a proposed opening of the store by September. The building will be leased to Family Dollar through Michael E. Lundy and Kent D. Burto of Northern Developers LLC.
As zoning officer, Mr. Blinebry also brought before the board a lot line adjustment along Broad Street for property to be developed between Franklin Street and Price Chopper Plaza. Mr. Lundy of Lunco Corp. previously came before the board to propose a NAPA Auto Parts store on the corner and a bank in the other lot.
The Planning Board will hold a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. March 13 at the village municipal building, 61 High St., to review a preliminary site plan for the NAPA store.
