MASSENA - Village police charged Angela M. Swinyer, 42, of 816 Pearl St., Ogdensburg, with two counts of petit larceny at 12:51 p.m. Tuesday following an alleged shoplifting incident at Wal-Mart. Store loss prevention associates told police they observed Swinyer select two packages of jelly beans and place them in her purse and then take several items from her cart and place them in her purse and under her shirt before walking into the vestibule past the last point of sale, where she was stopped by store personnel and found to be in possession of $90.19 worth of merchandise. She also reportedly admitted she had walked out of the store approximately 15 minutes earlier without paying for $24.59 worth of merchandise.
Swinyer was arraigned by Acting Massena Village Justice James M. Crandall and released under the supervision of the probation department with a stipulation she not enter any Wal-Mart stores.
