Michael Fransen scored twice as the New York Bluefins snapped a 16-game losing streak with a 4-2 Federal Hockey League win over the Thousand Islands Privateers at the Watertown Municipal Ice Arena on Saturday night.

The victory was the first for New York (5-25) since it beat the Danville Dashers, 5-2, on Nov. 25, when the team was located in Cape Cod.

Tristan Lysko collected a goal and three assists for the Bluefins. Pavol Bolibruch added a goal and two assists.

Kris McCarthy and Adam McAllister had goals for the Privateers (19-23), whose goalie Michael DiLorenzo stopped 26 shots in his first start.

Thousand Islands plays host to the first-place Dayton Demonz on Thursday at 7:35 p.m. before heading to Dayton for games Friday and Saturday.
