MASSENA - Some may say any trip to the mall could qualify as a ladies day out, but St. Lawrence Centre mall officials will be doing something a little extra special for women Feb. 9, when the mall hosts is first Ladies Day Out.
A number of the events we are doing now are very specific, like at a craft fair we have crafts and at the psychic and holistic healing fair we have psychics, Marketing Assistant Lindsey S. Breitbeck said. This gives people or businesses who dont fit into one of those other categories an opportunity to come into the mall.
Vendors lined up so far include Lindt Chocolates, Akwesasne Puppy Style Biscuits, Avon, Celebrating Home, Bows and a Bit More and the Massena Nursery School, who will be selling Tastefully Simple products.
Its nice to have all this stuff in one place right before Valentines Day, Ms. Breitbeck said. Well have makeup, jewelry, flowers, purses and more all in one place.
This is, of course in addition, to the malls nearly 40 other stores and eateries.
Ms. Bretibeck said shes hoping for good weather next weekend, giving people an excuse to get out of the house.
Were expecting a good outcome, she said. This is a good reason for people to come out of house following the winter freeze.
While the event is great for mall customers, Ms. Breitbeck also said its a good opportunity for the vendors.
It gives people with home or small businesses the chance to publicize themselves and get their name out there, she said.
Vendor slots are still available and can be reserved for $25 by contacting Ms. Breitbeck at lindsey.breitbeck@stlawrencecentre.com or 764-1001. Each space will include a skirted table and two chairs.
The day will also include a vendor basket raffle, with proceeds being donated to a yet to be determined local charity or organization.
Ladies Day Out will run during regular mall hours of 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., with special gift bags being handed out while supplies last.
