MASSENA - Connecting for five of a season-high 16 three-pointers in a 27-13 fourth quarter run, OFA stayed tied for the NAC Central Division Basketball lead with Malone posting a 76-53 win against host Massena on Friday.

“OFA got the jump on us early but we battled back to make it a five-point game at the half and it was only a nine-point difference to start the fourth. Then OFA started hitting everything and the floodgates opened,” said coach Tom Miller.

Matt Piercey (4 assists, 4 steals) netted four threes in a 16-point effort followed by Pat Cosmo (5 rebounds, 3 3s) with 12 points and Breton LaRose (2 3s, 8 rebounds, 3 blocks) who tallied 11 points and played role in the ball movement with a season-high six assists. Colin Ross netted with one three and Seth Pinkerton added a three as OFA moved to 14-1 overall and 8-1 in the Central.

Zack Rusaw led the Massena (6-4, 9-7) scoring with 18 points. Xavier Viskovich added 10 followed by Joey LaBelle with nine.

“It was a very nice win on the road. Massena played very hard and at times we attacked their zone very well,” said OFA Coacgh Mark Henry.

“Colin Ross gave us great energy off the bench again tonight. He was asked to defend one of their post players and did a fantastic job.”

The OFA JVs also registered a nice road win as Coach Scott Sargent’s 15-0 team fended off a late Massena rally to gain a 40-38 victory.Al Fisher (4 points) converted a strong move for the game-winning basket with 13 seconds left after Massena’s Nathaniel Currier (13 points) hit back-to-back threes to tie the game.

Tristan Moore generated 10 points for the Devils while Peyton Lalone added seven and Jon Rogers and Dakota Brady each scored six.
